  1. Enable auto-lock on your screensaver and set a strong password

    It's important to set a strong password for logging into your computer. In addition, you should enable the screen lock in your screen saver settings to keep your data secure if your need to step away.

    1. Click on the “Start” menu

    2. Click “Settings”

    3. Click “Personalization”

    4. IMPORTANT: Click “Lock screen”

    5. Then scroll down on the main screen and click “Screen saver settings”

    6. The Screen Saver Settings window will appear. Select a screen saver option from the dropdown menu

    7. Adjust the minutes that you would like before the screensaver comes on.

    8. Check the box for “On resume, display logon screen”

    9. Click “Apply”

    10. Click “OK”

    1. Click “Windows Hello PIN”

    2. Click “Add”

    3. Enter “Password”

    4. Type preferred “PIN”

    5. Confirm “PIN”

    6. Click “OK”

    Windows Hello Fingerprint

    1. Click “Windows Hello Fingerprint”

    2. Click “Setup”

    3. Click “Get Started”

    4. Enter “Windows Pin”

    5. Swipe your finger on the fingerprint sensor

    6. Once you've established your fingerprint

    7. Click “Close” once you see “All Set!”

    Security Key Options

    1. Click “Security Key”

    2. Click “Manage”

    3. Insert your Security key into the USB Port

    4. Tap the “Gold Button” when prompted

    5. Then create “PIN”

    6. Confirm “PIN”

    7. Tap the “Gold Button” When prompted

    8. Type name of the Security Key

    9. Click Next

    10. Click All Set!

    Password Options

    1. Click “Password”

    2. Click “Change”

    3. Enter “Windows Hello PIN”

    4. Enter Old Password

    5. Enter New Password

    6. Re Enter New Password

    7. Select “Next”

    8. Select “Finish”

    Picture Password Options

    1. Click “Picture Password”

    2. Click “Add”

    3. Enter “Password”

    4. Click Ok

    5. Click Select Picture

    6. Browse PC for Photo

    7. Click Open

    8. Drag picture to position it

    9. Select use this picture

    10. Draw First Gesture

    11. Draw Second Gesture

    • Browser extensions typically have access to sensitive data, such as browsing history, and have the ability to alter some browser settings, add user interface items, or replace website content. As a result, there have been instances of Malware & Adware, so users need to be cautious about what extensions they install

    • Malware and Adware are known to hide in various extensions, so it is recommended to be cautious when adding extensions to your browser.
