Managing your Zoom Account - Desktop/Laptop
Profile Photo - Having a profile photo can be useful if you need to turn off your camera during a Zoom session so people know who you are.
Log into Zoom, click settings (gear icon)
From sidebar click Profile
Hover over picture, you will see a pencil icon
Click profile picture
Click Change
Select a photo saved on your computer
Click Save
Video/Display – You can adjust your video settings to touch up your appearance, video mirroring, adjust lighting and change your meeting participant display
Click on the Zoom app from the desktop
Click on the Settings icon and select Video from the sidebar
Select your preferences under My Video
Select your preferences under Meetings
Audio - Before you enter a Zoom meeting, you can test out the speaker and microphone
Click on the Zoom app from the desktop
Click on the Settings icon and select Audio from the sidebar
Select Test Speaker for sound check
Select Test Mic and start speaking
Noise Cancellation – It can be distracting when you can hear someone typing in a meeting. Zoom found a way to suppress any background noises such as keyboard typing.
Click on the Zoom app from the desktop
Click settings (gear icon)
From the sidebar select Audio
From the Suppress background noise field, select an option that works for you
Virtual Background – You can add a fun background to your zoom
Click on the Zoom app from the desktop
Click on the Settings icon and select Background & Filters from the sidebar.
Select a system background or choose one from your desktop by clicking on the + sign
Note: This feature does not work in conference rooms or on the web.
Video Filters – You can add to your virtual background with frames and filters that change the color or turn yourself into a character with video filters.
Click on the Zoom app from the desktop
Click on the Settings icon and select Background & Filters from the sidebar
Select a filter. Click on Studio Effects to add more
Share Screen - You can share your screen or other content during the meeting
Click Share Screen (green box with arrow) located in your meeting controls.
Select one of these screen share options:
Basic: Share your entire desktop.
Hold the Shift key (macOS) or the Ctrl key (Windows) to select more than one application.
Note: Users can select multiple desktop programs at once instead of sharing their entire desktop, but all selected programs must be on the same screen to be visible.
